Well Done Mustard Pimp

The first time I heard of Mustard Pimp was when I came across his track "Gold" where he brilliantly samples "The Ecstasy of Gold" from the Clint Eastwood classic "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly."

Well, About 11 hours ago Mustard Pimp unleashed this ridiculously amazing remix of Shinichi Osawa's "EEAA." This remix is seriously insane and I wish I had a download link for you, but the SoundCloud player will have to suffice.

:::UPDATE::: BELOW IS THE FULL VERSION RELEASED 5/28/10

King Of Africa

This is Douster. Douster has one of the hottest opening tracks on the planet right now. Everybody has been dropping this from Aoki to Crookers to your momma. I've been hearing about this track for a while and I knew it existed but only as that, "crazy lion king remix." Well its been out on Beatport (click the link to buy it) but i'm pretty sure it was a sleeper track. Either way its amazing and I'm blasting the shit out of this one!

Here is a video Douster chopped up for it.

I'd post the track myself but like I said in the previous post our server's bandwidth has been exceeded till the 1st of February. But have no fear, you can - and you should - buy this track at Beatport right now!

Religion

In 2008, me and a very good friend of mine, Mitch, spent 2 months in Israel. Aside from visiting Jerusalem and reenacting memorable holy moments in history, we frequented many bars to take advantage of the 18+ drinking age.

"Religion"

One bar that we went to was very memorable. Mitch and I were feeling pretty cool sipping on our beer mugs of Hoegaarden when we heard this amazing disco song, "I believe in miracles baaaabay, I belieeeeve in youuuu!"

Oh hot damn. We tried asking the staff there if they knew the song, but they didn't know and the language barrier didn't help eathier.

After days of searching on google we found it..."I Believe In Miracles" by the "Jackson Sisters."

Well, I just found this track "Miracles" by Religion and they really did the original justice, keeping it just as Disco and just as sexy.

Religion - Miracles

Here's another track from Religion that is definitely a good ol' dark banger and a must have. I'm looking forward to seeing what else these guys have in store.

Never Gonna Stop

Yo, I got a banging original track from LAZRtag for you.

The track is entitled "Never Gonna Stop" and like I said above, this thang is banging.

The guys from LAZRtag were generous and sent us the 320 version...oh yeah.

But don't hesitate to go out and buy the whole release, which includes 2 remixes from Cold Blank and Disco Villians, that are just as banging, if not more...I said banging a lot.

Missy Elliott - Pass That Dutch - Bootleg!

Photobucket

As one of Missy Elliot's best songs in my opinion.. had to give it a rinse.
I think this came out great. I drop into the Original for a bit even! High
Pitched Ringing Synths and low rumbling bass ..wraps this up as a must have!

Zodiac Echoes

This is Zodiac Cartel. If you don't know about him then I'll give you some info. He's pretty much one of the most sought out producers in the tech/electro game. Most famous for his remix of Fukkk Offf's monster anthem, Rave is King. As well as just remixing the likes of Moby! Anyway, he posted this remix of Decoder & Healey on his Soundcloud page about a year ago, but I guess it never got a proper release so he has decided to put it out for free in all of its 320 glory!!!! So here is a great little electro/tech/fidget baby-bomb.

Jason Sundstrom

Photobucket

So as the new year moves on, one of our personal resolutions was to drop a 'kidcity presents' digital record release. We have been pushing our good friend , Jason Sundstorm , for this EP and finally got the results we were looking for. This kid is brilliant, and for only being 20 years old, his production skills far exceed his age. Featuring four originals (Perplexed, Pervert, Revolution, & Generation) and citing multiple influences across the electronic spectrum, this EP moves from Jason's previous traditional "hard electro" style towards a more big room tech/house influenced sound that will surely create fire in the club.

We are releasing a teaser of the 4 track EP to a few of our favorite blogs. The official drop date is the 19th. It'll be up on the kidcity for FREE, yea that's right, completely free. If you can hype this up as much as possible before its official release, we'd really appreciate it!

It seems to me that this guy just never stops. With his endless onslaught of great remixes and original material, along with his monthly party in Atlanta titled "Fuck Yesss", I really don't understand how this dude finds time to sleep, eat, or do things that us mortal DJs do.

This track dropped about a month ago on So Sweet Records. So Sweet is internationally known for it's dirty electro sound that dominates clubs from Tokyo to LA. Big ups to So Sweet Records and Le Castle Vania.

VDRK & OCD Automatic Tells Us Things

VDRK & OCD Automatic are two young gentlemen from Brooklyn and Chicago who have crafted a piece of disco-electro madness. I've had the pleasure of knowing VDRK, (as well as having him on my radio show) back in my NYC days and he never ceased to impress me with his charisma, track selection, disco flail outs and hysterity on the dance floor. Needless to say i've been waiting on him to put out a track for far too long. And he and his boy OCD do not fail. I've had this track for about a month or so and every crowd I played this for on my tour were going nuts for this!
The track finally dropped on Subdrive Records this past Tuesday, and I got the thumbs up to post it up for all of you. I promise that if this is a sign of things to come from these two duders that the future is looking fucking awesome! If you are in NYC this Saturday and need a place to jam the fuck out, head over to their party Discovery at Santos Party House!

Mainstream Morning After X

Before Alvin Nathaniel Joiner, also known as "Xzibit", went on to "pimping" cars, he released a chart topping hip-hop song "X". I'm sure you all remember it and when you hear it you put up the X, I know I have many a times.

Well Felix Cartal has taken this hip-hop banger and turned it into an electro banger sure to get any dance floor popping.

Xzibit - X (Felix Cartal House Edit)

I haven't really listened to the radio in a long time, but I'm assuming Timberland's "Morning After Dark" has been getting a lot of playtime, correct me if I'm wrong.

Mr Gaspar & Oliver Portamento's remix of it is freaking fantastic meng. This will definitely get people popping as well.

WOMP WOMP WOMP

Everyone should know who Datsik is by now. He runs the (pop) Dubstep game. Anyone who has 5 of the top 10 songs in their genre on Beatport is the shit in my book. Simply put, Datsik is the man, and he will continue to be the man.

Subskrpt

Photobucket

Came across these tracks by Subskrpt the other day. I'm not too sure who this mystery mixer is but these tracks are ace!!

The first track was featured on Rusko's BBC 1xtra mix, and the remix of 'Cash Flow' has been getting a lot of hype since it was featured on Major Lazer's Essential Mix. There's also a remix of an unreleased Crookers track up on his Myspace that's definitely worth checking out. People seem to be looking all over for these tracks so don't miss out!

Let's go to Utah Ya'll

Normally rapping or hip hop based vocal samples in dance music isn't my sort of thing, but this track is an exception. This number has a solid vocal sample that is used properly, and compliments the drop that happens around a minute and half into the track very well.

I don't know too much about Myagi or The Rootsellers, but the Utah Saints are a production duo from London that produce strong dance-pop and rave tracks. They have been around since the 1990's and are still managing to create fresh tunes.

Discover Discovery

One of my favorite little things to come out last year, "Discovery." One of my favorite little songs to come out last year, their tune "Carby." One of the most surprising things to see last year, not a single remix of Carby out there on dem blogs.

So here's a little diddy that Ben Danner, our boy Colin (Flexellence) and myself (Team Jaguar) put together over the last week, our faithful remix of Carby.

Hope you dig it.

Piano Waves

So by now we should all be rather familiar with Erol Alkan & Boys Noize's track Waves. But what you may not have heard is Gonzalez's rendition of it. It's simply gorgeous and most certainly makes two things happen for moi. One, it makes me excited for the upcoming collaborative album by Gonzalez and Boys Noize out later this year. Two, it makes me excited to hear real proper musicianship back into the dance arena. Don't get me wrong there are lots of proper artists out there doing there thing, but Gonzalez is the man - I wouldn't be surprised if he played the whole piece out in one take.

Slackin...

If this were a Mustache Florida post it would say something like "Yo son, this track is mad sexy. It makes me wanna rip my shirt off during my DJ set while I'm wearing an afro, because that's what I do when I rock parties like it's my job."

A Couple New Favorites

First up on my list is Felix Da Housecat's new remix of Uffie's "Pop The Glock." It's a ridiculous piece of music that constantly keeps building and changing and evolving through out the song. I feel like it might be some Felix's best work. Definitely a good way to start off the New Year!

Uffie - Pop The Glock (Felix Da Housecat's Pink Enemy Remix)

Next is a remix that Villa (best known for his disco edits) did of a track called "Warm in The Shadows," by Music Go Music. Now this song was released in November of '09, and was played in Aeroplane's November chart - but - I just found out about it. And I couldn't find it anywhere to buy - so here it is for all of you! It's an amazing song that builds slow but drops huge!

Ben Danner's top 10 of 2009.

2009 was a pretty awesome year for me, it was the year that I actually got my shit together, got a decent a job, and started playing more gigs. There a million people I could thank for this awesome year, but I would really like to thank Manley (for giving me a chance), Mustache Florida (for teaching me that I gotta step my game up), Mark Starr (again for giving me a chance), and my roommate Colin (once again for...giving me a chance).

Another thing that made last year amazing was all the amazing music that was released. Coming up with a top 10 was kinda difficult, it was tempting to do a top 20, but it would be better to not overload the servers.

2009 was all about two "D" words, Disco, and Dubstep. People are still making good electro too...imagine that.

Well since everyone else is doing this I figured I would too. Except I egotistically (pft) decided to play just about all my own tracks, edits, and then just a couple others that I have been loving more then anything! Anyway I hope you guys had a great New Years celebration and that 2010 is as good as everyone is hoping it will be!
