Hey June

Whats up world. It's been a minute. Life's been crazy and I've been travelling around doing my thang. But I don't want you all to think I forgot about you. Here's one of my favorite jams from October. The original track is by Gizelle Smith out of the UK and it's amazing in her own right. You should really get her album. It's awesome. (Get it Here). But IMO, (and thats why you are reading this, duh) is that the TM Juke remix is just perfect. He even puts a lo-fi vocal effect on the hook to make it sound warmer and more vintage. It's just got a great "Hey lets roller-skate!" vibe.

It's MY BIRTHDAY!

Yeahhhhh!!!!! It's my birthday!!!! I be 23! And since you guys that visit this blog are so awesomeeeeee you are going to get some really sweet party gifts!

WHO WANTS PARTY GIFTS?!?!?!?!?!

Yeah that's right, you do.

You might notice that almost all of these songs are from my TransAtlantic 050 mix. Thats because they are awesome. And if I had my way I would do nothing but party to 80's disco funk.

Alright first up is a personal favorite by Cherrelle called Turn You On. It came out a couple years after Prince's 1999. But you can feel that vibe in it. Those synths come in and the track just goes off!

Cherrelle - I Didn't Mean To Turn You On

Second up is a classic from Italian Disco champ Pino D'angio. Got to love that deep voice. Makes me want to boogie

Pino D'angio - Ma Quale Idea

Third is So Fine by Howard Johnson. It has this super funky 80's soul song. It reminds me of something like an 80's band covering a early 60's Motown track.

Howard Johnson - So Fine

Fourth is just a stellar synth jam by Alan Cook called Do You Want To Stay. It's just an overall fun song to jam to.

Alan Cook - Do You Want To Stay

Last but not least is one of my favorite tracks of all time followed by one of the most classic house jams that mashes it up. This track is none all of the world and still tears up the dance floor (anyone at the last Menace beach can attest to that!). It's none other then Dr. Beat by Gloria Estefan and The Miami Sound Machine.

Mylo Vs The Miami Sound Machine - Dr. Pressure

I hope you guys enjoy these tracks as much as I will enjoy my birthday!!!!!

Soul of Man

The lineup for the 11th Ultra Music Festival has recently been announced on the festival's Web site. Some acts include: Booka Shade, Tiga, Deadmau5, Simian Mobile Disco, Cut Copy, Crystal Castles & The Prodigy.

I checked out some of the groups I wasn't familiar with and found I'd been missing out on Soul of Man. This duo has been around for 10 years with their label Finger Lickin' Records.

They've got a lot of funk and I can't get enough.
