100th Post and Bears in Space!

Like what High Schoolers say when they hit their long awaited graduations, "we did it!" But in all honesty, like said High Schoolers, we didn't do much. We just rambled on these internets thrice a day about shit we love...though I do feel a certain sense of pride hitting 100 posts. And we have a number of vibrant new contributors, I can't wait to see the numbers at the one anniversary and what the future has in store for your Penned Madness Heroes...

Speaking of future, check this shit out...

That, my dear right-clickers is what scientists call a Tardigrade or as Professor Layman puts it, a "Water Bear." These bears, like their land cousins of normal size earth, are godless creatures. Though they aren't the number one threat to our country, they spit into the eye of any big guy in the sky by being nigh indestructible... read more!

From http://www.dailymail.co.uk:
"They are the toughest animals on the planet - and now scientists have discovered that they can even survive in space...Some experts have compared their shape with jelly babies or moles but tardigrades they should not be judged by their 'cute' appearance. They are virtually indestructible - they will not die even if they are boiled, frozen, squeezed under pressure or desiccated... In fact, they can be completely dried out for years - and then spring back to life as if nothing had happened.
Now researchers have revealed that tardigrades - which usually measure no more than a millimetre in length and live in moss - have withstood the airless extremes of space. A year ago, 3,000 of them were dried out and fired into space to see if they could handle the cosmic rays, a near vacuum and freezing cold. Amazingly, after ten days, some of them did. They became the first animals to survive exposure in space without protection."

How fuckin' cool is that? This creature could be something we use to (and mind you this is a long term plan) start life on other planets. Couple of these bad chickens shot out into space could help us propagate life on other worlds...in like 4 billion years.

Well to accompany these timeless creatures, I have included some remixes of tracks that, like the Water Bear, will never die and even after lying dormant for so long...have risen anew.

These next three tracks are straight blog robs from Palms Out, but man oh man, are they good. Seriously this past Remix Sunday (127) has been like my favorite ever.

The Beatles - Strawberry Fields Forever (Mojo Jones Remix)

Frank Sinatra - New York New York (Chew Fu Fix)

Manfred Mann - Blinded By The Light (DJ Donna Summer Boot)

And this one, I found on Dilated Choonz...
after I saw they linked us about the "Shove it" remix by Boy 8-Bit.

Creedence Clearwater Revival- “Fortunate Son” (Bird Peterson Remix)

Thanks for sticking around guys...

Bloggers can arrested, the hell you say!

From Yahoo News: http://news.yahoo.com/story/ap/20080827/ap_en_mu/blogger_arrested

LOS ANGELES – A blogger suspected of streaming songs from the unreleased Guns N' Roses album "Chinese Democracy" on his Web site was arrested Wednesday and appeared in court, where his bail was set at $10,000.

FBI agents arrested 27-year-old Kevin Cogill on Wednesday morning on suspicion of violating federal copyright laws. Cogill appeared in court in the afternoon wearing a T-shirt; his girlfriend sat court and afterward said, "Rally the troops," but declined further comment.

Federal authorities say Cogill posted nine unreleased Guns N' Roses songs on his Web site in June. The songs were later removed.

In later posts, Cogill wrote that the FBI had questioned him and asked his readers if any of them knew a good attorney. He was represented Wednesday by a federal public defender.

According to an arrest affidavit, Cogill admitted to agents that he posted the songs on his Web site. Prosecutors said Wednesday the leak could result in a "significant" financial loss for the band.

Cogill will not face any special Internet restrictions, but was ordered to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on Sept. 17.

"Guns N' Roses representatives have been made aware of the arrests and are leaving the matter to the authorities," said Larry Solters, the band's spokesman.

"Chinese Democracy" is a much anticipated — and repeatedly delayed — new album by Guns N' Roses that is more than 10 years in the making. At least one of the album's songs could be heard legally: The band wrote on its Web site in July that its track, "Shackler's Revenge" will be featured on the video game Rock Band 2, slated for release in September.

WTF Axel?
You really think that these leaked songs will affect the sales of your shit record anyhow?

Seriously dude, take a long around...

You know how many people get fuck stupid rich and popular from purposeful leaks of their tracks? Any little bit of drummed up excitement over your old washed out ass should be appreciated and greeted with open fucking arms. But no, you and yours had to go on and be cocktards and throw a dude in jail for basically doing you a decent.

Hey Axel, try to do your best and remember these old adages;

"There is no such thing as bad publicity,"

and...

"Don't be a dick."
