This Tuesday is a huge day for us, Designer Drugs is playing our humble party tonight and we have a hefty amount of excitement built up about it... Andrea and I have been practicing most of yesterday and early parts of this morn in preparation of this event.
Here are some tracks for your amusement, I must get back to mental readying myself for the awesome that is going to hit our sleepy town tonight... as well as Thursday.
Tuesday is here, and you know what that means... New Tracks! Well, it's not like we aren't trying to post new tracks everyday but on Tuesday especially, we try to post tracks that we wanna see turn into dancefloor gold. The jams that when people hear them drop for the first time, they walk up to you spinning and are compelled to ask; "Yo, my good DJ. What pray tell is the name of this Jammy Jam?"
That awesome feeling we all love - when people recognize you got your shit together, that you are going to do your job by showing them new shit and not just going to feed them something easy like Paper Planes...again...and again...
and again...........

Starting this post off is an exclusive track from our favorite new artisit, Black Holes. Straight from our inbox to you the people comes the latest from these eager up starts. "War Drums" is fucking sick, and even if you don't read the rest of this post and just grab this track...I will feel like I have done my job as a blogger.
P.S - Cheers to Uh Oh Disco! to turning us on to to this guys, much love.
P.P.S - The boys of Black Holes are also contributors to Hot Biscuits, check that shit out if you don't already know about awesome things...

Count and Sinden team up with Rye Rye to bring this gem, "Hardcore Girls." Rye Rye may be only 17 right now, but she will straight stab you if you cross her - that's what a hardcore girl does. Rye Rye keeps it real, what can you do...
Thanks Glitter & Gold, we had an older mix from 4 years ago but this is hotter.

From Ludachrist, and found on Palms Out, comes this mess of wonderful. Taking the exploits of an off-kilter bi-polar woman having an episode and putting it to a killer beat, Classic.
Don't know about the MARTA Girl? Damn, tighten up folks...

Ok ok, I now I might have send something earlier about "Paper Planes, blah blah blah" but this remix is worth a post. From our boys Starters, other recent favorites of Penned Madness, comes this reworking of every "bad-ass" suburban girls favorite song. I am not knocking the song so much, but it certainly was not the best track on "Kala," not by far...and doesn't need to be the only thing you fucking wanna hear during the night. The Starters remix though is exactly the way I always envisioned remixes of this song going, not ever so slight variations of the original stamped out on wax quickly to hype up the release of a movie (except the Scottie B version, which is amazing). This below is a sped up dance monster of a track...
Well hello there... Didn't hear you come in. What I am doing you ask? Well, I am organizing a set for tonight. Just going through some tracks I have found this weekend and such, hoping that they will be giant banger successes.
Hey, I have an idea... Would you like to help? Would you like to listen to some of these tracks and see if they make you dance?
Yeah?
Ok then, well let's go! :: magical wispy segue music::
First one here, I got from Glitter and Gold, our good friends in Orlando...
I just had to post these tracks I found today... They are too good not to share... I am so going to throw them into my set tonight, I'll tell you how they fair tomorrow.
This first one, I discovered when I was asked by my boss to find the "Olympic Anthem" to use in our office's version of the Olympics... Yes, I work in one of those wacky offices...
This gem I discovered from our new friend over at UhOhDisco.com. Go check out that shit when you get the chance, Stephen of Uh Oh Disco! loves this dance shit just as much as we at Penned Madness do. And if you love dance music, then you'll love Stephen - see how that works?
And finally, some tracks from DLake's lastest EP; the sequel to his hit mixtape "Bmore Of a Hipster Vol. 1" comes "Bmore Of a Hipster Vol. 2" Catchy ain't it...Oh it is. Cop yourself one at Turntable Lab and such.
So just like every other Music Blog out there, we at Penned Madness are going to try our hand at a special weekly theme. So for now, we're going to experiment with the concept of Tuesday Mixtape Madness...Madness...Madness...Madness...
So I have decided to dip into the well and use some of my fellow bloggers and DJ friend's recent additions to the mixtape universe. But I have also included two mixes from some more well known DJs as well, those are at the end... Till then...
Estrange, Evan, works with the cats from Crush at Backbooth in Orlando and Pulp in Tampa, he was also former host of the recently bastardized Saturday/Thursday at Firestone in Orlando. He has been my boy for years and years, we grew up in the same shit hole of Brevard County Florida and killed way too many brain cells together over those years. But we both made it out so things are good now. Besides being awesome, Estrange is also a DnB and Jungle junkie, he's newest mix will quote: "Have you movin, shakin, and dancin all up in this bitch!"
Listen to this shit, he is insane: Hella Hyphy 2 Chromeo - Fancy Footwork (Kissy Sell Outs Six Different Ways) Aeph - Leave Me Alone Shinichi Osawa - Electro411 (Lies In Disguise Remix) Telematrik - Exit Civilisation Surki - White Knight Two Dieselboy-Load_Rocket_(Gridlok_remix) COMPUTER CLUB - Load Rocket Danny Byrd - Weird Science Shitdisco - 72 Virgins (Bloody Beetroots Remix) Blame - Stay Forever
Miss Fit runs the popular music blog community of Glitter and Gold with the help of a few other cats. Don't listen to what Defame: Orlando says, it is a great blog and the people working it have their shit together. The Dude or Not-Dude of Defame is just pissed at the Orlando scene nowadays and is hating on anyone they can find, I have a feeling that this mystery person probably helped create most of the madness in Downtown Orlando at some point and just feels left out now. Anyways, besides running that biz, Miss Fit is also one of the resident DJ cats I mentioned before from Crush at Backbooth in Orlando and Pulp in Tampa, she was also a resident DJ of the again, recently bastardized Saturday/Thursday at Firestone in Orlando. Here's her mix for all you chillin' by the pool.
I put this mix together yesterday to give to Mike from Mad Happy when they played a show here in Tallahassee at All Saint's Cafe. If you haven't heard these guys, I highly suggest checking out their MySpace. They are fun, positive, great beat makers and all around great people. Anyways, my mix is definitely sloppier than Phillip's or Evan's - kinda just threw mine together. I only did it in one take, and that is not to imply I'm a better DJ - "Good Ole One Take Manley" - not at all; just that I made a few mistakes, but hey, what are you gonna do. and yes, I do read Palms Out too much... Here it is, sloppy at times but I hope you dig it.
